Wearing a Uniform: Pros And Cons

Today we wanted to raise an important question: uniform or no uniform?

Saying NO to a uniform:

1. It doesn't leave room for creativity.
Yes, it's true that clothes is an important part of one's individuality, so wearing a uniform can be seen as somewhat restricting.

2. Kids have to wear the same all the time.
Even if young athletes love the uniform, they still hate the fact that there is no variation or choice in what they are allowed to wear.

3. It involves additional costs
It's so much easier to throw on a pair of shorts and an old t-shirt, but it doesn't work the same with the uniform (and you might need a bigger size every year)

Saying YES to a uniform:

1. It creates a sense of belonging

It's so important, when it comes to sports, that a child feels a part of the community. RBS is a group of like-minded people, who are proud of being called #royals!

2. It promotes respect and tolerance

At Royal Business School, we believe that it doesn't matter if you are tall or short, what color is your skin, if you are a boy or a girl. What matters is how you treat your teammates, your hard work and dedication.

3. It disciplines

Wearing a uniform is a perfect way to learn how to properly prepare and store clothes, that you wear regularly as it creates a routine that is super easy to stick to.

All in all, we believe that a uniform (especially ours) is something that creates the right vibe around your ordinary basketball session, it gives you something to look forward to and encourages team spirit.
