"While March Madness is most known for its tourney, the sheer amount of excitement and wild predictions leading up to the event are also a huge part of what makes this time of year memorable. Only 32 of the 68 teams in the field are given automatic bids for winning their respective postseason conference tournament—or the regular season title in the case of the Ivy League—which means the remaining 36 are decided by the selection committee and are wide open to interpretation."
In other words, every year is huge for the teams, and no less important for the fans whose anticipation grows day by day.
