4 Reasons Why Your Kid Should Play Basketball

Image
If you’re a parent looking for reasons why you should enroll your kid in basketball, look no further. Let us be the one to shed light on the topic. Basketball, or sports in general, remains to be a big part of modern society. Some kids do it because it’s fun, some just do it because of pressure, while some do it because they want to become pros later in their lives. No matter the reason for playing basketball, we know there’s a lot your kid can learn from it.  Develop self-discipline. Basketball is a game that requires constant movement. As a player, your kid has to run, dribble, pass and, shoot, and that’s a good thing. As your kid gets exhausted, sweat, and maybe shed a tear or two, you’re helping them develop the self-discipline that they need as they grow older to become responsible adults. Overcome challenges. Facing an opponent in court is a challenge in itself. Your kid can learn to overcome challenges better by listening to the coach, learning to be a team player and, knowi...

Basketball Routine at Home

Image
For most spectators, playing basketball may not seem to be a big deal. They see players dribbling, passing and shooting baskets – or missing some – and think to themselves that that’s all to it. But each and every player knows that to earn a spot in the team, you need to put in a lot of effort, hard work, and dedication to play the game of basketball. “Remember that basketball is a game of habits. If you make the other guy deviate from his habits, you’ve got him” – Bill Russell “Remember that basketball is a game of habits.” Bill Russell is right, and we can’t emphasize enough the importance of a basketball routine and developing a healthy habit out of it. As gyms remain closed for now, consider having your basketball routine right from your own home. Start by doing simple drills and move forward from there. Dribble and pass on Mondays and Fridays, shoot on Tuesdays, and stretch and do station drills on Wednesdays. This not only helps to improve muscle memory and build a strong immune ...

RBS - Developing Great People

Image
When James Naismith invented basketball back in 1891, it was to provide “athletic distraction” to his students who were getting rowdy during the New England winter; and it worked! The game has since then become a prominent sport with the main goal of one team scoring more points than the other.  That may be well and good, but here at Royal Basketball School, we believe that this sport offers so much more. With our year-round basketball program, we believe that not only can we develop great athletes, we can also develop even greater people. This is possible because we respect each athlete, admire teamwork and lead with integrity. 🏀🏀🏀 With this goal in mind, the pandemic hasn’t stopped us from providing sessions to kids eager and excited to play basketball. Our coaches cater to year-round private, semi-private and even on-demand classes. Each program has been designed to achieve different objectives, in different formats.  Get to know more about these programs.  here: ht...
