Essentials: Your Child's First Basketball Class

Your child's first basketball class is coming, and if you still don't know what equipment will be needed...Don't worry, we have made a list of essentials that your child must have for that exciting first basketball experience.

1) Shoes:

Wearing any kind of sport shoes will prevent ankle and foot injuries substantially during practice, and in game enivronments. They protect your child's feet, while they run and jump on a hard-court, which the game is played on.

2) Shorts:

Moving while practicing and playing will be much easier with athletic-styled shorts. Something like the style pictured below, is ideal.

3 T-Shirt:

Wearing any regular t-shirt will also help with movement.

4.Socks:

Socks that are too thin, or made of thin material, will rub at your child’s feet. The feeling can be uncomfortable. Socks that are too thick, will cause your child's feet to sweat, which is also uncomfortable.   We’d suggest athletic socks, as they are made for vigorous activity.

5 Water:

Keeping your child hydrated is one of the most crucial priorities while playing the game. Please make sure to bring a sufficient amount of water to each practice and game.

Extra Items:

Warm Clothing:

Sometimes the weather can be very cold, and it's important to protect your child's body after practice with a warm hoodie and pants.

Last but not least, bring a positive attitude and outlook to each class and practice, and you will undoubtedly have the best experience, on and off the court.
