Age is not a Factor: Let's Ball!

At Royal Basketball School, we believe there is so much more to developing your child's basketball skills than just going out on the court to shoot. We focus on the fundamentals of the game. The critical building blocks your child needs to become a solid overall basketball player. The younger a child begins working on their game, the faster they will develop into a well-rounded athlete.

Developing proper body movement, harnessing athleticism, perfecting hand eye coordination, enhancing  work ethic, and the promotion of a daily exercise routine, will all be taught to your child.

Our youngest age groups focus on: How to run, jump, slide your feet, skip, move dynamically with high knees, and jump on a single foot. Students also begin to learn how to control the basketball with their fingertips, roll the ball on the ground, hold the ball, dribble, pass and so much more!

Q: Does that mean my child will not learn how to shoot in the class designed for the youngest level of student?

A:Of course not! We will teach your child how to shoot properly from day one!

At Royal Basketball School, the youngest students learn how to shoot on a hoop that is lowered to the appropriate setting for their height. Students will learn how to shoot the basketball from their chest instead of throwing the ball underhand, from below the waist. Younger children often use this method when they discover that they are not yet strong enough to reach a regulation sized rim, but don't worry, we got their backs!

If your child is old enough to run around the gym, they are old enough to learn the game of basketball. At Royal Basketball School, we will make sure they do just that, and have a ton of fun doing so!
